Senior Cognitive Science Engineer – Cognitive Biomarkers & Eye Tracking Systems
Your Role
We’re looking for a Senior Cognitive Science Engineer who’s as comfortable diving into algorithms and signal processing as they are stress testing real-time systems and breaking things (on purpose). You’ll work closely with our CSO, Data and Integration Engineers, and within the Quality team to ensure the robustness, accuracy, and reliability of everything we ship.
This isn’t a typical QA team role—it’s system-critical engineering. You’ll build infrastructure that exposes blind spots, catches edge cases, and makes our biomarkers battle-proof in the real world.
What You’ll Do
• Design and execute tests for real-time signal processing pipelines
• Build tools to simulate eye tracking inputs and edge-case scenarios
• Validate digital biomarkers under varying hardware, light, user, and software conditions
• Collaborate with integration and ideation teams to identify fragilities early
• Recreate and diagnose bugs across C#, Python, and Unity
• Write test automation scripts (for data flows, APIs, Unity scenes, hardware response)
• Stress test algorithm performance under real-world noise and latency
• Define and monitor system-level metrics for stability and reliability
• Maintain reproducibility frameworks for experiments and debugging
What You Bring
Must-haves:
• Strong engineering mindset: ownership, reliability, detail orientation
• Experience with real-time systems or sensor-driven software
• Fluency in Python and either C# or Java
• Familiarity with signal processing or eye tracking SDKs (Tobii, Pupil Labs, etc.)
• Ability to break down complex bugs across the stack
• Prior experience with test infrastructure (unit, integration, performance)
• High standards for robustness and reproducibility
• Willingness to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice-to-haves:
• Background in neuroscience, HCI, robotics, or medical devices
• Unity or 3D simulation testing experience
• CI/CD tools for test automation
• Experience with data labeling, versioning, or synthetic data generation
• Previous roles in research engineering or tech validation environments
