Senior Embedded Systems EngineerVienna – AustriaFull-time – Hybrid
We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join our Integration Team.
Your Role
Help bring advanced eye-tracking algorithms from research prototypes onto real embedded hardware.
You will translate sophisticated signal-processing pipelines into efficient implementations running on ultra-low-power platforms such as GAP9, ARM Cortex-M, and RISC-V systems. Along the way, you will help shape how our signal-processing stack evolves toward embedded deployment – influencing architectural decisions around performance, memory, and system design.
This role sits at the intersection of signal processing, embedded systems, and product architecture, turning research into reliable real-world technology.
What You’ll Do
- You will help define how our current research and desktop-based signal processing pipelines evolve toward embedded deployment. The exact technical path will be shaped together with the research and hardware teams.
- This may include:
- Translating signal-processing pipelines developed in Python into efficient C/C++ implementations for embedded targets
- Exploring architectures for running real-time gaze and pupil-signal processing on ultra-low-power SoCs
- Designing modular algorithm libraries that can run both in research environments and on embedded devices
- Evaluating performance, latency, and memory constraints of different hardware platforms
- Building tooling and validation pipelines to ensure embedded implementations remain consistent with research algorithms
- Collaborating closely with the algorithm research team to ensure new methods can be deployed on embedded hardware
What You Bring
Must-haves
- Acad. degree in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or related technical field (Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science)
- Experience designing and implementing software for resource-constrained hardware platforms, with an understanding of real-time constraints, memory hierarchies, and system-level performance trade-offs.
- A strong background in signal processing and time-series analysis, particularly in systems operating on continuous sensor streams.
- Experience implementing DSP pipelines in embedded environments, including filters, smoothing, and real-time signal modelling.
- Excellent C/C++ programming skills for embedded systems, with attention to memory management, performance, and portability.
- Experience profiling and debugging algorithms on real hardware targets.
- Comfort working at the boundary between research algorithms and production software, translating experimental code into robust systems.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with RISC-V, GAP8/GAP9, ARM Cortex-M, or similar embedded SoCs
- Experience working with real-time operating systems or embedded Linux
- Experience with biomedical signals, wearable sensing, or eye-tracking systems
- Familiarity with C# and Python-based algorithm development pipelines
- Experience building portable algorithm libraries shared across platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation and deployment
- Open-source contributions demonstrating work with embedded systems
Compensation
We’re not a 9-to-5 kind of company, and we value flexibility. That said, we expect high output and reward accordingly. The yearly gross salary for this position ranges from €65.000 to €80.000, depending on experience and qualifications.

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join our Integration Team.
Your mission
implement and maintain the tools that bring our biomarker algorithms to life inside real-world systems.
You’ll translate the work of our Ideation and Quality teams into stable, performant features in our desktop tools and customer-facing interfaces. You’ll design modular system architecture, maintain and scale web-based APIs, and develop new features for SOMA Aware Dashboard app. You’ll also work closely with our Customer Success team to integrate our solutions into customer environments – and ensure that integration feedback directly informs future development.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with scientifically oriented data flows, and who isn’t afraid of juggling different tech stacks and platforms, to provide both front- and backend solutions to customers.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate closely with the Ideation and Quality teams to bring algorithms from Python into production and our core C# framework
- Design and refactor modular system architecture and frameworks in .NET and C#
- Build and maintain customer-specific integrations (e.g. API endpoints, SDKs)
- Optimize our CI/CD and release pipeline, and optimizing workflows with regards to GitLab/Github Actions, Code Signing and Licensing
- Design, build, and scale microservices that power our analytics platform.
- Translate customer feedback into internal development suggestions
- Ensure robustness and testability of front- and backend features
- Work across platforms: Desktop (.NET, Python, React, JavaScript), Web (basic frontend/backend), VR (Unity)
- Contribute to internal tools that support data validation and testing
- Implement features and UI elements in our desktop and VR applications (Dash Plotly, Unity)
- Designing, building and refining data pipelines as well as prototyping cloud services integration
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align features with cognitive research insights
What You Bring
Must-haves
- Strong experience in software development, from understanding user requirements to deployment & shipping (C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, React)
- Experience with API integrations and cross-platform development
