Eye Tracking Data & Study CoordinatorVienna - AustriaPart-time - Hybrid
We are seeking an Eye Tracking Data & Study Coordinator to join our Quality Team:
Your Mission
- Data labelling of eye tracking recordings (fixations, saccades, AOIs, artefacts)
- Developing experiments to stress-test our algorithms (finding edge cases, failure modes, and performance boundaries)
- Study coordination (participant management, scheduling, ethics, data quality)
Key Responsibilities
1. Eye Tracking Data Labelling
- Manually and semi-automatically label gaze data: fixations, saccades, blinks, track loss, and Areas of Interest (AOIs).
- Clean and pre-process raw data from eye trackers (e.g., Tobii, Pupil Labs, Gazepoint).
- Build and maintain labelling guidelines and inter-rater reliability protocols.
2. Algorithm Stress-Testing via Experiment Design
- Design and program experiments specifically intended to challenge our eye tracking algorithms (e.g., rapid eye movements, low lighting, peripheral targets, high cognitive load, unusual head positions, fast motion).
- Work with the engineering team to understand current algorithm weaknesses and create behavioural paradigms that expose edge cases.
- Iteratively refine experiments based on algorithm performance – if the algorithm passes, make the experiment harder.
- Document failure modes and provide structured datasets for model improvement.
3. Programming & Experiment Implementation
- Write robust Python scripts for experiment control, data labelling automation, and quality checks.
- Use PsychoPy (Builder and Coder) to build precise, stress-test paradigms.
- Create reusable experiment templates for different stress conditions (e.g., gaze precision, latency, occlusion recovery).
4. Study Coordination
- Recruit, schedule, and manage participant sessions (including informed consent and payment).
- Set up and calibrate eye tracking equipment before each session.
- Ensure GDPR/ethics compliance and proper data anonymisation.
- Maintain organised study documentation and version-controlled datasets.
5. Collaboration
- Present stress-test findings to research and engineering teams.
- Suggest algorithmic improvements based on observed failure patterns.
What you bring
Programming (Python, PsychoPy) is the most important skill. A background in cognitive psychology is a plus but not required.
Compensation
We’re not a 9-to-5 kind of company, and we value flexibility. That said, we expect high output and reward accordingly. The yearly gross salary for this position ranges from €36.400 to €46.200, depending on experience and qualifications. For a start, we’re looking for part-time with the potential to build up to full-time.
Senior Fullstack Developer – System Integration & Application DevelopmentVienna – AustriaFull-time – Hybrid
We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join our Integration Team.
Your mission
implement and maintain the tools that bring our biomarker algorithms to life inside real-world systems.
You’ll translate the work of our Ideation and Quality teams into stable, performant features in our desktop tools and customer-facing interfaces. You’ll design modular system architecture, maintain and scale web-based APIs, and develop new features for SOMA Aware Dashboard app. You’ll also work closely with our Customer Success team to integrate our solutions into customer environments – and ensure that integration feedback directly informs future development.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with scientifically oriented data flows, and who isn’t afraid of juggling different tech stacks and platforms, to provide both front- and backend solutions to customers.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate closely with the Ideation and Quality teams to bring algorithms from Python into production and our core C# framework
- Design and refactor modular system architecture and frameworks in .NET and C#
- Build and maintain customer-specific integrations (e.g. API endpoints, SDKs)
- Optimize our CI/CD and release pipeline, and optimizing workflows with regards to GitLab/Github Actions, Code Signing and Licensing
- Design, build, and scale microservices that power our analytics platform.
- Translate customer feedback into internal development suggestions
- Ensure robustness and testability of front- and backend features
- Work across platforms: Desktop (.NET, Python, React, JavaScript), Web (basic frontend/backend), VR (Unity)
- Contribute to internal tools that support data validation and testing
- Implement features and UI elements in our desktop and VR applications (Dash Plotly, Unity)
- Designing, building and refining data pipelines as well as prototyping cloud services integration
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align features with cognitive research insights
What You Bring
Must-haves
- Strong experience in software development, from understanding user requirements to deployment & shipping (C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, React)
- Experience with API integrations and cross-platform development
- Empathy for user experience and interest in making tech usable
- Reliable, self-driven, and able to manage complexity across platforms
- Comfortable communicating with clients and understanding their needs
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience working with scientific or data-driven applications
- Strong background experience in cloud computing ideally with AWS or similar cloud provider [SK1]
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (ZMQ, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)[SK2]
- Prior exposure to security best practices in cloud environments.
- Passion for cognitive tech, spatial computing, or emerging interfaces
- Understanding of eye tracking, neuroscience, or human-computer interaction
- Prior experience in biomedical development is highly advantageous
- Previous work in B2B integrations or custom SDK deployment
- Unity experience (especially VR and Android build targets)
Compensation
We’re not a 9-to-5 kind of company, and we value flexibility. That said, we expect high output and reward accordingly. The yearly gross salary for this position ranges from €56.000 to €77.000, depending on your experience and qualifications.
